چکیده

Abstract Background Commelinaceae (Commelinales) comprise 41 genera and are widely distributed in both the Old New Worlds, except Europe. The relationships among this family have been suggested several morphological molecular studies. However, it is difficult to explain their due high variations low support values. Currently, many researchers using complete chloroplast genome data for inferring evolution of land plants. In study, we completed 15 new plastid sequences subfamily Commelinoideae Mi-seq platform. We utilized reveal structural reconstruct problematic positions first time. Results All examined species three pseudogenes ( acc D, rpo A, ycf 15), former two might be a synapomorphy within Commelinales. Only four tribe Commelineae presented IR expansion, which affected duplication rpl 22 gene. identified inversions that range from approximately 3 kb taxa Amischotolype , Belosynapsis Murdannia Streptolirion ). phylogenetic analysis 77 protein-coding genes with maximum parsimony, likelihood, Bayesian inference suggests Palisota most closely related Commelineae, supported by This result differs significantly current classification Commelinaceae. Also, resolved unclear position Streptoliriinae monophyly Dichorisandrinae. Among ten CDS ndh H, C2, rps 3, G, ccs F, mat K, 1), nucleotide diversity values (Pi > 0.045) over 500 bp length, 1) show they congruent topology derived genes. Conclusions provide detailed information on genomes taxa. characteristic diversity, can used infer evolutionary history. further research needed revise

Phylogenetic Studies in the Commelinaceae Subfamily Commelinoideae Inferred from Nuclear Ribosomal and Chloroplast DNA Sequences

The Commelinaceae are a pantropical family of monocotyledonous herbs. Previous phylogenies in Commelinaceae have emphasized sampling among genera. We extended this previous work by sampling multiple species within some of the largest genera of Commelinaceae (especially Commelina and Tradescantia , and also including Callisia , Cyanotis, Gibasis, and Murdannia ), and by sequencing noncoding regi...

Molecular Evolution of Chloroplast Genomes of Orchid Species: Insights into Phylogenetic Relationship and Adaptive Evolution

Orchidaceae is the 3rd largest family of angiosperms, an evolved young branch of monocotyledons. This family contains a number of economically-important horticulture and flowering plants. However, the limited availability of genomic information largely hindered the study of molecular evolution and phylogeny of Orchidaceae. In this study, we determined the evolutionary characteristics of whole c...

The Complete Chloroplast and Mitochondrial Genome Sequences of Boea hygrometrica: Insights into the Evolution of Plant Organellar Genomes

The complete nucleotide sequences of the chloroplast (cp) and mitochondrial (mt) genomes of resurrection plant Boea hygrometrica (Bh, Gesneriaceae) have been determined with the lengths of 153,493 bp and 510,519 bp, respectively. The smaller chloroplast genome contains more genes (147) with a 72% coding sequence, and the larger mitochondrial genome have less genes (65) with a coding faction of ...

Insights from the Complete Chloroplast Genome into the Evolution of Sesamum indicum L

Sesame (Sesamum indicum L.) is one of the oldest oilseed crops. In order to investigate the evolutionary characters according to the Sesame Genome Project, apart from sequencing its nuclear genome, we sequenced the complete chloroplast genome of S. indicum cv. Yuzhi 11 (white seeded) using Illumina and 454 sequencing. Comparisons of chloroplast genomes between S. indicum and the 18 other higher...

Primate phylogenetic relationships and divergence dates inferred from complete mitochondrial genomes.

The origins and the divergence times of the most basal lineages within primates have been difficult to resolve mainly due to the incomplete sampling of early fossil taxa. The main source of contention is related to the discordance between molecular and fossil estimates: while there are no crown primate fossils older than 56Ma, most molecule-based estimates extend the origins of crown primates i...
